  The store itself is underwhelmingly small, with not much more than Skellig chocolate to offer. But the really disappointing thing was that they only accept cards over €10. We just didn’t have any cash on us, so we had to put our things back and move on. A bit silly considering it’s 2018 and most stores let you tap nowadays, so this shouldn’t have to be a problem, especially when using an Irish bank card.

  Has a €10 minimum requirement for cards. Beyond ridiculous in this day and age, bank charges cannot justify it and if that's the reason they're going to go with they need to change bank. Seems like a ploy to get tourists to spend more in the store, even more annoying when they're turning away Irish bank card holders. Presume they get away with it as they have the monopoly in the village.

  Not the biggest store, but this is not the biggest town. It does have the essentials including a small meat selection, vegetables, cleaning and hygiene, and cans / pot noodles etc.
  
  Not a supermarket, but more a holiday supplies store. Better than hopping in the car to the next town just to pick up something simple.
  
  Naturally biased toward the confectionery and convenience end of groceries. You can make do with the supplies here however.

  Why all the bad reviews!! This is a quaint and i think excellent little store for a small community like Portmagee. They have a little bit of everything and perfect for travelers or those going on the boat tours. Fresh goods, meat, deli, post office inside, I thought it was perfect . No complaints here.
